I was asked to fish the Nevada Striper Club tournament at Lake Mead and so I did. I started at 5:00AM yesterday and fishing was very slow. I caught my first fish at 2:00, a 6-6 fish and was going in at around 5:00 and tried one more pass and I got hooked up. I caught a 15-2 Striper yesterday. Today, not a bite. At the weigh in today at noon, I found out I won the tournament. I got most weight and won big fish. That was pretty cool. I will probably fish more tournaments...

Good job, Allan! Tournaments can be fun, but slow fishing amplifies the frustrations when you are competing. However, slow fishing can sometimes be an advantage if you are able to get into something when other people aren't. Thanks for the report _________________

Nice fish Allan, i wondered why you were fishing so hard today even with it being slow. We fished hemenway and boulder most of the day. We trolled for about 6 hours with nothing. spent 24 hours straight on the river and caught one 4lb at placer, hopefully the big storm coming through gets them biting.....
