Finally got the one to surpass all records on this forum. Now i just need to decide what side of the river it came from to put in the record books. Ok guys this is just a joke but i need to get everyones attention here. This coming week I have the opportunity to change things around for us and our fishery. I have finally put the re-opening of the hatchery and trout stocking on the agenda and i desperately need your support if you want fish planted in our waters once again. This is about numbers so if it means something to you i would suggest showing up. It might be our one and only chance. As many of you know i was elected to Clark County Advisory Board to manage wildlife in Clark County. I have spent a little over half of a year on it and we finally have the opportunity we have been looking for. The next meeting will be held at the Overton Community Center in Overton Nevada on Tuesday from 5:30 - 9:00 If you can make it please bring along any ideas for funding the hatchery as well as any impact you know of that they have caused by not stocking trout in our local waters. Jobs lost, businesses closing, Poor fishing, economic impact from out of state anglers no longer coming, ect. If you were like me and could not wait for the stock truck to appear to see what was in store for the day, i need you present at this meeting if we are going to see a change and have a chance to re-open our hatchery. If any of you from the Striper Club read this i need signatures of those of you who would like to see them stock again. Basically i need all the ammo i can get guys and all of you can make a difference. This is open to the public and kids are welcome. There usually is at one possibly two county commissioners present they will be the ones who notice the turnout and will carry are words forward to the next state meeting held the same week. If we dont act on this one it could be 2 or 3 years before we have this opportunity again with no trout stocking in the mean time. Call me with questions or if you want i can drive a few of you up there with me. 702-429-0583 Thanks for any help you guys can give me. MikeStriper55 _________________ Mike Pergola

Thanks guys, you have no iedea what we can accomplish here. This will be a great start to what we are trying to acheive. Hey, i have their ear so everyone please get involved and lets make this the most impressive showing of our professional Las Vegas Anglers ever. When people show up in droves these guys listen real well if you know what i mean, as it is the Majority that they look for. I have some guys trying to come in from out of state so this is not just a local thing. Inform everyone you know who hunts trophy Stripers in our waters. Only working together can we accomplish this. Thank you again for jumping on in on this important matter. _________________ Mike Pergola

Sounds like time for a "ROAD TRIP"!
I'm in the NW corner of the Valley and if I take my Suburban I will have a few open seats if anyone wants to go. _________________ Here fishy fishy fishy!
They should stock Lake Mead and Cottonwood and not stock the inner city lakes where lots don't even have licenses. The problem seems to be that the government is broke. They broke the bank and don't care about us fishermen...trying to convince them is a monumental task guys...It doesn't hurt trying though and telling them how we feel...
The meeting is in Oventon on Tuesday at 5:50 pm.... _________________

The address is 320 North Moapa Valley Boulavard. looking at it on google earth it looks like you get to moapa and take a right. becasue the town is pretty small i have a feeling that this place will stick out like a sore thumb. I am going to get up there just a little early, so if any of you get lost call my cell and i will help you find it. 702-429-0583. Allan is not really believing right now, but when a great opportunity like this comes up for us, it cant be past up. The problem is that we have not had enough of us involved and now that i have gotten this far is all the reason for us to pull together now. If we have the turn out like we had a year ago they would most likely have no choice but to figure out how they were going to fund re-opening the hatchery. The fact that this meeting is the only one held outside our city limits only makes it that much more impressive to these people that we are taking it so seriously. If you plan on attending and want to make public comment, you will need to sign a form when you walk in the door. I believe you will have approximately 3 minutes to speak about the topic. With 10 to 15 of us anglers there, they will be taking us alot more serious now that it is an actual item on the agenda, which was not the case in the first meeting. So right down your thoughts about it and take out what you see as the most impressive facts and use them in your 3 minutes. With everyone pulling together their thoughts we will surely hit a few great key points that they will take with them to the state legislature in our defense. I have a good feeling about this, so lets show them that they need to sharpen thier pencils and make sure the money collected from our licenses, stamps, ranger citations, ect, stays in our fishery. For the Striper club, For those of you who cannot make it i need you to get together a petition and and have everyone sign it if you agree that the hatchery should be reopend. This is the kind of thing that hits home with them and its all about numbers. I hope to see everyone there for this great cause. _________________ Mike Pergola

Overton/Logandale is spread out, so I want to make sure no one (including myself) gets hung up trying to find the place.
I tried the 320 address through a couple mapping programs and they didn't agree, (google earth is wrong) but it looks like, the Community Center is just north of the Maverik Gas station. Look for the big army tank parked beside the road. Should be right next to the library which is at 350 N Moapa Valley Blvd.

Thanks Fisher dan. I too could not find the address listed on any directional maps. Most likely a new building for the area. This is a great relief to know you guys are in this with me. I have alot of great talking points for my part of the discussion and i am going to ask for our session to get more time as we will have a good turn out and i want to make sure everyone will be able to speak their mind. Thanks again
