We went out today and spent 8 hours running around the normal spots. It was a beautiful day with clouds and a fairly nice wind. It was also what is becoming all too normal as the summer wears on, a bust. Towards the end of the run we went down almost to Monkey Hole and it was interesting how the water temps are 10* higher, 72*, than at Willow. Even at 60-62*, The Beach is still too warm. We had 2 hours of darkness to get started but everything is much slower. Very few fish of any kind rising to the surface. Well this is easily fixed. _________________ Here fishy fishy fishy!

I think he says it right before the end of the quote.."willow is still to warm" means jet skiers and fast boats around... Down river is warmer so up river it is lol... Just my take on it... Interesting none the less...haha

A ranger/biologist in Montana told me once that trout have a hard time digesting food if the water temp gets above 60*. I don't know the truth to that statement but I do know that when the water warms up fish go to cooler water which usually means deep. The body of water we fish is unique in that the source, Hoover Dam, pulls the water from 200' below the surface of Lake Mead and when it exits the dam it is 54* year round. Willow last week was around 62*. That is a 8* temp change in 9 miles. To get to cooler water, head upstream. With the regs and my boat being over 65hp the river is open upstream to me this time of year from Tuesday thru Saturday. _________________ Here fishy fishy fishy!

Smart thinking boys this weekend the water at willow 59to60. 6miles down 75 that's a big jump in only six miles, I guess that's why some of my fish have been coming up with bluegill in their guts and not trout huh. Maybe its time to invest in some great a/c bluegill plugs .I saw some nice ones on the website. Might be cool to throw some of them down by monkey lol. _________________ ALL FISH BEWARE OF AC FISHERMAN!

I really like running the surface plugs too but running a diver or some weight would probably help your odds. _________________ Here fishy fishy fishy!
